Damien Display Font Family
Damien is a contemporary serif typeface family especially designed for editorial typography. TheSans Office Font Family
TheSans is part of the Thesis superfamily which Luc(as) de Groot first published in 1994. During the past decade and a half, TheSans has come to epitomize the useful-yet-friendly, all-purpose contemporary sans-serif. It has become the face of thousands of organisations, publications and web sites, making it one of the most widely used sans-serifs world-wide. Thesis was conceived as a versatile typographic system of ambitious scope. It grew out of a dissatisfaction with the limited range of good typefaces available for corporate identity projects. It aims to fill that gap by providing the user with three compatible styles – TheSans, TheMix and TheSerif – in an optically harmonious range of eight weights, including real italics for each weight. TheSans is a low-contrast typeface – i.e., the differences between thin and thick strokes are not very pronounced. Yet the reference to writing with the broad-nibbed pen is still present, giving the letters a diagonal stress and a forward flow that facilitates reading. The roman letterforms tend to have some characteristics of an italic or written construction. Yet the italic forms themselves are very distinctive: they were not derived from the upright but were individually designed while perfectly complementing the roman forms.

Alte Schwabacher Font Family
Schwabacher was the predominantly used typeface in Germany from about 1470 until about 1530. Schwabacher has round character forms other than Textura or Fraktur. It spread rapidly through the popular poems by Hans Sachs but even more through the Reformation. All works by Luther and other reformers were printed in Schwabacher. Gutenberg still used Black Letter handwritings (Textura) for his printings, but these styles were replaced by the Schwabacher typeface under the influence of the renaissance towards the end of the 15th century. Reportedly, Schwabacher was first used by Johannes Bamler for an incunabulum in 1472.

I love the look that a vintage typewriter gives it's letters. The inconsistency of ink coverage, making characters fill in on themselves. Each Simple Things letter has it own personality, completely unique from it's neighbour. So when I stumbled across a old typewriter in a local thrift store I bought it straight away and typed page after page of characters, excited about the fact that I could make a really special and unique font with this piece of history at my hands. Hopefully I've captured that with this font as I've included alternative characters, that with OpenType turned on will automatically change so 2 letters together looked apart.
