Calcula Font Family
Calcula is a display typeface that uses smart OpenType features to explore the space between lettering and typeface design, creating maze-like spaces between letters. Inspired by the geometric Kufic style of traditional Arabic calligraphy, Calcula is a functional OpenType typeface, with design principles that are rooted in lettering, in that each letter reacts to neighbouring letters, adapting to its context.

Lumin Font Family
The Lumin family includes slab-serif, sans serif, condensed and display typefaces, all of which play with the idea of contradiction. The contrast between horizontal and vertical strokes seems to be quite subtle, evoking the slab serifs of the past century. The stroke connections, however, are sharply chiseled, reminiscent of high-contrast modern types, an effect especially pronounced in the heavier weights. The result is hybrid letterforms that look almost like stencil drawings, yet maintain high legibility at the smallest sizes.
Valter Font Family
Valter is a graceful and slightly cheeky collection of sans-serif display fonts inspired by pointed-pen writing. Constructed on a monolinear skeleton, it offers seven weights that incrementally increase the contrast between the horizontal and vertical strokes. The thin styles appear wider, while the heavier weights feel normally proportioned, as only the interiors of the letters gain weight. Valter also includes narrower, cursive italics, as well as small caps and advanced OpenType layout features, creating a refined type family of 16 styles.
Portrait Text Font Family
With its relatively small x-height and sparkling texture, Portrait Text is meant to be used for larger sizes than a typical workhorse text face. It is best suited for books where economy is not paramount and the stylish magazines where Portrait first appeared: downtown New York fashion and arts magazine Document Journal, and design and style authority Wallpaper*. Portrait Text resembles the text types attributed by the printing historian Hendrik Vervliet to Constantin and used by Estienne in the 1530s, which had a lighter and more open texture than the text types that preceded them, and marking the move to more elegant type that culminated in the work of Claude Garamont, of whom Constantin’s type are often mistaken.

Scandia Line Font Family
Made from the most basic of ingredients, Scandia Line is a family of sans serifs in four skeletal weights and a stencil variant. As its name implies, the typeface was drawn without curves and therefore uses only lines and angled segments to suggest familiar circular proportions. Taking inspiration from some unlikely bedfellows – like Grecian-style wood types and the crude algorithmic letterforms of early computers – Scandia Line is more than a type designer’s experiment. It’s a thoroughly usable typeface that is at once delicate and severe.
Portrait Inline Font Family
Portrait Inline is a beautiful, decorative addition to the collection, building on the inscriptional quality of the capital proportions. Portrait Inline Regular takes minimalism present in the rest of the collection to its logical extreme: sharply tapering outer strokes play against monoline inner strokes, with all extraneous detailing stripped away. The Inline Sans takes the structure of the Inline Serif, exposing the geometric underpinnings of the proportions, while adding a dimensional element through its overlapping strokes.
Compacta Font Family
Compacta is the work of Fred Lambert and is reminiscent of the extremely narrow, sans serif stencilled fonts of the 1920s, then intended as titles or headlines for magazines and posters. The characters of all cuts are narrow and the space between letters is very small. The white spaces between strokes are perceived almost as only small white stripes and dots which stand out from the black bands of the lines of text. Compacta is not meant for longer texts but is impressive in titles and headlines.
