Decode is a retro styled font, referencing the art deco typography from the 1920’s and 30’s. The font is designed to be in keeping with the art deco style but with a contemporary and modern finish making it a stylish font for all kinds of work. The typeface is available in 3 complimentary styles. Use one on its own as a headline font or combine all three to create eye catching typographic displays. Newcomen Font Family $52 | 4 x OTF
Newcomen is a highly versatile titling face that includes 87 OpenType alternates and 38 ligatures. Newcomen titling, in its default form, evokes the Victorian era and is named for the British inventor of a steam engine for pumping water.
Newcomen’s flexibility is remarkable; the family includes four weights, and OpenType style sets are included that can alter the appearance of the face to either appear more dark and gothic, classical, include dots in the counters, and swash and “boxy” sets.
Individual characters can also be selected and mixed and matched in OpenType capable applications for distinctive custom designs. ION A is a part of the ION superfamily, which consists of 3 families: condensed (ION A), normal (ION B) and wide (ION C), each having a compelling range of 10 weights. Styles Thin to Black have 436 glyphs supporting more than 70 Latin-based languages and the three heaviest weights, named U1, U2 and U3 have 94 basic glyphs.
ION glyphs are based on the classic 7-segment display, but for readability and aesthetic reasons, some alphabetic characters don't follow this matrix strictly. In case you like things in order, don't worry, there’s a stylistic set that replaces all characters with their strict alternatives. The special characters, such as #, @ or % are composed of special segments, but are designed to fit seamlessly within the whole character set.

This typeface is primarily optimized for the setting of belles-lettres. The regular styles are balanced to suit small text sizes and enable the reading of long portions of text. The development of the typeface was guided by the goal of creating a contemporary, discreet book serif, with modern expression and numerous functions. Letters feature reduced contrast, the lighter styles may evoke wired letters, while the heavier ones bear distinct slab serif references. The extremes thus work in harmony and fulfil the demanding requirements of advertising and magazine layout. The name Pepone was chosen as an homage to Josef Kroutvor. Of course, the typeface isn’t solely reserved for the setting of the works of Josef K. On the contrary – we’d like to present a universal typeface suited for literature, catalogs and magazines. It wouldn’t be the first and the last example of a typeface created with a specific purpose in mind, which later became used universally.

While working on his master thesis designer Philip Lammert was thinking of a logotype for his type foundry Calligrafiction. He thought that the most obvious and boring graphic illustrating the name would be a brush lettering. So he started sketching a static sans-serif between Helvetica® and Arial®, soon adding slight references to the calligraphic origin of type. The rough logo idea of the beginning ended up becoming a type family of 16 fonts with each 600 glyphs.
Peter is a Neo-Grotesque Sans with rational and clear basic letterforms, while in its details it unfolds distinct attributes of humanist type traditions. Combining these characteristics it works perfectly side by side with transitional serif typefaces. As a grotesque it claims a very common design, yet offering the warmth of humanist drafts. Thus the child needed a very common name: Peter.
