Swift 2.0 Cyrillic Font Family
Gerard Unger developed this newspaper font between 1984 and 1987 for Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Hell GmbH, Kiel. He was mainly influenced by William A. Dwiggins (1880-1956), the typographic consultant of Mergenthaler Linotype, who started to develop more legible, alternative fonts for newspaper printing as early as 1930. Swift was named after the fast flying bird. Austere and concise, firm and original, Swift is suited for almost any purpose. Swift has been specially developed to sustain a maximum of quality and readability when used in unfavorable print and display processes, e.g. newspapers, laser printing and low resolution screens. Its robust, yet elegant serifs and its large x-height provide an undeniable distinction to the typeface, making it suitable for corporate ID and advertising purposes as well. Swift 2.0 family was designed in 1995. It’s an improved version with technical and aesthetic enhancements and new family members. The Cyrillic version was developed for ParaType in 2003 by Tagir Safayev. Please note that this family includes only basic latin characters; it does not include accented characters required for western and central Europe.

Blenny Font
Conceptualized by Dalton Maag font developer, Spike Spondike, Blenny is a true individual, with elegant hairlines and exaggerated ball terminals. Soft, voluptuous curves and a retro feel make it suitable for branding, bold headlines, or product labels. Blenny comes in one weight and supports two script systems, Latin and Thai. Inspiration comes from everywhere and Spike’s early sketches for Blenny played with a vintage, seafaring theme inspired by visits to the beach at St Leonards on the South Coast of England. Other influences included the retro typefaces used on old electronics equipment and gin bottles. It was Spike’s previous experience of working with Thai, and a trip to Bangkok, which prompted her to connect the diversity of shapes in the Thai script with the design of Blenny. Spike relished the challenge of creating the Thai glyphs whilst maintaining the key features of Blenny’s design. Creative decisions on the Thai in turn led back to refinements to the original Latin. For Spike, the end result is visually very pleasing. “Individual glyphs such as the “a” seem to wrap around themselves in a hug”. Bruno Maag, Chairman of Dalton Maag loved the design from the minute he laid eyes on it. “I’m considering having a tattoo done with it”. In honor of their new font, Dalton Maag has created the Blenny gin cocktail. Just like the font it’s named after, a Blenny is bold, punchy and has a touch of class.

Pragmatica Slab Font Family
Pragmatica Slabserif was designed as a complement to the popular type family Pragmatica by Vladimir Yefimov and Isabella Chaeva (1989-2004) by addition of square serifs. Inspired by Helserif (Phil Martin, 1978) which was formed in the same way by addition of square serifs to Helvetica (Eduard Hoffman and Max Miedinger, 1957). First sketches of Pragmatica Slabserif were created by Vladimir Yefimov in 1988 during development of Pragmatica. Olga Umpeleva designed the whole slabserif type family of six weights basing on those sketches. All styles of Pragmatica Slabserif coordinate with corresponding Pragmatica styles on metrics, proportions, weights and design. The new family can be used together with Pragmatica and separately. It’s convenient for technical texts, for magazines of general nature, for business applications as well as for advertising and display matter. Pragmatica Slabserif was released by ParaType in 2011.

Streetscript Redux
Back in January 2012, a chubby, uprightish baseball script called Streetscript made it into the MyFonts Rising Stars newsletter. Since then, it has been used for all manner of applications, far beyond the range of uses I'd anticipated. However, one thing seemed to keep cropping up. It seems a lot of users didn't like the s’s in the font, and after seeing them redrawn (not always with the best results!) a few times, I decided to make a new version of the font with less idiosyncratic s’s, and this is the result, Streetscript Redux. (I should have listened to my other half - “those s’s look like fives,” she said). All other features of the original Streetscript are intact (barring a couple of s-ligatures no longer necessary). There’s been a little tweaking of some outlines, and slight changes with spacing too, but for the most part, all I've done is redraw those pesky five-like s’s, so that you don't have to.

Stanzer Font Family
Stanzer is an interpretation of wood type combined with the idea of modern stencils. Instead of cutting every letter, we are presenting an example of how a modern stencil typeface could look like, as we have come to the conclusion that almost every letter works without cutting it. Stanzer is a Unicase typeface, available in three OpenType weights: Black, Shadow and Block. Stanzer first started as part of our diploma 2010 (it was called Stanley at that time). The basic idea behind this typeface is that it is fully stencil usable, and, unlike other stencil fonts, does not require any bridges (except for the O and Q). Almost every letter can be sprayed without inserting planks. However, Stanzer also offers the display weight Block, which is only suitable for print or online usage.
