Pantograph Font
Pantograph is an authentic redraw of the typeface employed by the British pantograph etching process. Most commonly used for technical signs for our streets, our buildings and our work places. These signs are invisible – camouflaged by their utilitarian design, conveying facts and warnings that are to be understood and not enjoyed. In digitising the font, the temptation was to re-design it – to make it typographically stronger and more balanced. But that is not the point. Pantograph is not meant to be beautiful. Its beauty is in its use.
