LTC Swing Bold Font
This mono-weight script face evokes advertising of the 1930s & 40s. LTC Swing Bold, was based on Kaufmann Bold, which was released by ATF (American Type Founders) in 1936. Kaufmann proved extremely popular in its day. For that reason ATF was not willing to license the font to Lanston. Lanston slightly modified the face by having their punch cutting department head, Sol Hess, redraw the face. Had American Type Founders continued to provide types we would not wish to sell this face. However we feel we are the "second" most entitled to this type face design, first in the use of the trademark. ATF sold it with the Kaufmann trademark. In any case, the face has been offered constantly by the Lanston Type Library for many decades.
