Akut Font

This typeface was started more than ten years ago by Dino dos Santos and the main idea was to build a typefamily using exclusively straight shapes. Dino kept the original FontLab® drawings, but he decided not to forward with the design, until Pedro Leal took the basic idea and expanded it into a complete and amazing new design, now published by DSType. Akut is the result of this long term exploration on angular, softly curved shapes. All of the typically curved sections were toned back, or even completely replaced by angular strokes, creating a distinctive and contemporary look. Available in three very distinct yet consistent versions — Regular, Italic and Script — all with five weights, ranging from Light to Black.
