Rialtos Normal Font Family
Rialtos is inspired by the warmth and awkwardness of early 20th century grotesks. Typefaces of this era, such as Venus and its contemporaries have an undeniable charm. However, the admiration of a typeface can be as much about the application as it is about the face itself. The character traits of these early grotesks are undeniably inspiring, but their associations with the work of Piet Zwart to that of Blue Note Records are equally important. Rialtos looks to this broader visual language to bring a contemporary relevance. Though it does reflect certain ‘ear-marked’ characteristics, Rialtos is more indebted to how Venus and the likes were applied versus their actual design.
