Twine Font Family

By twisting and weaving separate strands of rope together, a stronger TWINE is created. The distinctive “valleys” that give the twine its twisted and wavy appearance is the result of the twining process.
Similarly, TWINE the font, is an exaggerated representation of the calligrapher’s individual pen strokes that create a cohesive character which is enhanced with the stencil. Unlike other stencils, TWINE emphasizes calligraphic strokes, so you will find it very legible even in small point sizes. Check it out!

Handwriting of a strong Carelian personality revived: It all started with this Soviet postcard I got from my aunt Katri more than twenty years ago inviting me come to Carelia in autumn. Katri had a very kind but also energetic personality, and I felt her handwriting is a mirror of it. By making “SyysScript”, based on Katri’s handwriting, I felt I could revive some of her unforgettable character. The name “SyysScript” is Finnish and translates as “Script of Autumn” – Katri’s favorite season – harvesting time, time for collecting the fruits of nature in the forest and the garden.
Since its release, SyysScript has become a favorite for many. Here’s what Elsa says about using it for her diary: “I got off to a bad start as I’m using my laptop to write. It’s only that my Macbook is my friend and I have the most beautiful handwritten font called SyysScript that I love to scrawl in. It’s not that I don’t ‘do’ handwriting myself, but this is just more fun, and – if I’m to be honest – is a lot easier.”

The inspiration comes from some old documents and store signs from my great-grandfather's old gold listfactory from 1838. He delivered hits for many artists of that time, and various museums in Copenhagen. I priority increases to make a mixture of the classic letter with a modern lift. Seems it was fun to try to reproducesome of the old characters and make a new font. Uppercase “G” was the first letter of the startingpoint. G stands for in danish “Guldramme”, which means “Goldframe”. Arkibal is coming from an almost old danish tradional name "Arkibald", only without "d".

Rowton FY digs its roots in Eric Gill’s views on typography in his book “An essay on Typography”. This typeface has the very British feel of the 20th century. Taking as inspiration the calligraphic illustrations of the book, Julien Priez, Hugo Dumont, Jérémie Hornus, and Alisa Nowak, shaped up a new design. This sans-serif is tuned for text setting (with small capitals) but can also be efficient at larger sizes, specially with its lighter weights, and does a perfect job for signage or logos.Taking the same source of inspiration a stencil display typeface for bold and bespoke titling is also in the making.Rowton Sans FY has six weights (from Hairline to Bold), with gently sloped italics companions that have details of cursive handwriting. Compass Next is a third edition of Compass TRF designed in 2002. The first time Compass TRF has been conceived was as a “geometric” Didone – all letters literally were drawn with a ruler and a compass. Second edition (2009) got additional styles – Flourish Initials and Small Caps. This time, the objective was to bring overall extreme geometrical expression closer to traditional letterform style of its “modern style” typeface category (Didone). All glyphs were redrawn including in alternative Decorative style, and additional Bold weight has been added.

The Gill Sans® Nova typeface, by Monotype Studio designer George Ryan, expands the much-loved Gill Sans family from 18 to 43 fonts and features a coordinated range of roman and condensed designs. Several new display fonts are available, including a suite of six inline weights, shadowed outline fonts that were never digitized and Gill Sans Nova Deco that was previously withdrawn from the Monotype library.
A variety of OpenType® features are supported that make it possible to include experimental characters from different points in Gill Sans’s long history, including pointed diagonals on ‘A’, ‘V’ and ‘W’ and alternatives for ‘b’, ‘d’, ‘p’ and ‘q.’ Proportional figures are also available as an alternative to the tabular designs.
The Gill Sans Nova family has a large character set that supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic languages. The display weights support Latin only.
“Gill Sans was fast to strike a chord with people after its initial 1928 release and quickly became popular,” explains Ryan. “It’s been adapted for every publishing technology, from mechanical typesetting to digital imaging – always receiving the best treatment from Monotype in each iteration. This is especially true with all that we’ve added to the new series, while still retaining the familiarity of Gill Sans. My goal was to ensure clarity across digital environments, add missing weights, and bring more personality to the family with new display fonts, as well as Gill-inspired alternate characters.”
The Gill Sans Nova typeface family is part of the new Eric Gill Series, drawing on Monotype’s heritage to remaster and expand and revitalize Eric Gill’s body of work, with more weights, more characters and more languages to meet a wide range of design requirements. The Series also brings to life new elements inspired by some of Gill’s unreleased work, recently discovered in Monotype’s archive of original typeface drawings, designer correspondence and documents from the last century.

Chameleon consists of 16 fonts based on 3 completely different designs. Different but specially designed to complement each other. Together they form a well balanced design kit suitable for many different projects, e.g. invites, menu's, magazines, brochures, packaging, etc.
Chameleon comes in three styles: 2 outline versions and a basic (solid) version. To combine Chameleon with Chameleon Fill, you will need an application that allows you to stack text frames. Once you start layering different fills, like a true chameleon, you can change colors and patterns. Simply place several layers on top of each other, choose from 7 fills to determine your pattern and assign a color to the fill. Always place one of the outline versions of Chameleon on the top layer.
Chameleon Pen was added to give you the possibility to spice up your design with a personal touch. It is a charming handwritten font, which was first written out with a dip pen and ink, then scanned in and digitalized. It comes in regular and italic.
